No less than Michael Jordan confirmed that only Kobe Bryant came close in comparison to him. Basketball fans from around the world searched for an heir to his “Airness” throne for the past few years ever since Michael Jordan retired three times.
Nothing deserved to be considered as an apparent heir to his greatness but Michael Jordan stated that only one basketball star came closer to merit the comparison it was Kobe Bryant.
According to the statement made by Roland Lazenby, an author and great writer currently working on a Jordan book, MJ told him that Kobe’s the only one to have done the work, to deserve comparison.
Roland Lazenby tweeted “Kobe’s ultimate competition is MJ. That’s why MJ watches him. MJ made people think what he was doing wasn’t human. Ditto the Kobester.”

Michael Jordan, the greatest basketball player of all time have been copied and idolized even by his fellow NBA superstars but none proved to came closer to him but Kobe Bryant deserved the credits.
Other players who have been linked to Michael Jordan were Harold Miner, Jerry Stackhouse and Vince Carter. Although those players deserved a superstar status but being compared to Michael Jordan doesn’t work for them.
One of the failure we have seen also in the NBA was people were thinking that LeBron James is the heir of Michael Jordan but the guy is just slowing down although he is another star in the making, he was just unable to meet the example set by Jordan.
Kobe Bryant deserved the comparison because of his dedication and work that have proven his skills. It is just flattering for him to compared closer to Michael Jordan.
