It seems like the former President Bill Clinton and US State Secretary Hillary will be very proud this time, because their only child Chelsea Clinton was hired by the NBC News as a special correspondent of the said network.

Chelsea, who describes by her mom as “the most miraculous and awe-inspiring event in her life” is a 31-years-old television journalist and philanthropist, and is married to an investment banker is thrusting herself further into the public spotlight.

Chelsea will be a correspondent to report inspirational and influential stories in a series ‘Making a Difference’ which runs on “NBC Nightly News,” and also wanted to to donate all of her earnings to the said charity.

Since her father Bill Clinton won the presidency in 1992, Chelsea became a national figure and has been a support for her mother’s bid for the Democratic presidential nomination.

When she was interviewed by the NBC News President Steve Capus “‘What are you interested in doing?’ Chelsea said she had been moved by stories of people making personal contributions when she was in her mother’s campaign in 2008.

“What we talked about was if she were to come on board that’s the kind of thing she would be interested in doing. We knew she wasn’t going to do the lead story. But having somebody who was going to do really captivating feature (–foul word(s) removed–)ignments for the ‘Making a Difference’ franchise really kind of synced up,” Mr. Capus said.

NBC said that Chelsea Clinton wasn’t available for an interview, but issued a statement saying: “People who imagine and implement solutions to challenges in their own lives, in their communities, in our country and in our world have always inspired me.”

Ms. Clinton will become the second daughter of a president hired by NBC News, and the third daughter of a recent presidential candidate. Jenna Bush Hager, daughter of President George W. Bush, works as a correspondent for NBC’s “Today” show, and Meghan McCain, daughter of John McCain, is a contributor to MSNBC.

But Mr. Capus emphasized that Chelsea, and the others, are all serious hires by NBC News. He said Ms. Clinton had “made it very clear that this is not going to be a surface-deep relationship.” He added, “She wants to be in the field for the shoot and in the edit room for the edit.”

Ms. Clinton will continue her work with the Clinton Foundation and her studies at Oxford as she pursues the new job with NBC.

Congratulations Chelsea! 🙂
