Katy Perry is in the headlines once again proving that her “Firework” continue to shine and to captivate her listeners on the kind of music that she’s offering.
After leading this year’s nomination for MTV Video Music Awards, Katy Perry is now making another historic record in the music scene especially in Billboard.
For the past 19 years, there was no single album in the chart for Billboard’s Pop Songs who had achieved similar impacts than that of what Katy Perry had.
Her latest album which is the “Teenage Dream” had set a record to be the first and so far the only album which had set five (5) No. 1’s in the chart.
Teenage Dream album was released August 2010.
Among the songs who had made it to the No. 1 spot were her “Fireworks”, “E.T”, “California Girls,” Teenage Dream” and her latest hit “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)” which rose from No. 2 to the No. 1 spot.
These songs were determined based on their number of spins and plays on pop radios in the U.S., furthermore, those songs were included in the top 40 radio airplay ranking. The facts were provided via Neilsen.
To recall, Katy Perry was being nominated for MTV Video Music Awards for the following category, Video of the Year (Firework), Best Female Video (Firework), Best Pop Video (Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)), Best Collaboration (E.T with Kanye West), Best Cinematography (Teenage Dream) and Best Editing (E.T).
The mentioned categories were just five out of the total nine nominations that she had acquired.
This mentioned prestigious music awards is set to be held this coming August 28.
Katy Perry’s recent achievement only shows that her music defines her. She’s not just a singer but she’s also a songwriter and an actress who started her career when she was 15 years old through the recording of her first album.
