Viloria beats Miranda via unanimous decision

Another victory for the Philippines was brought to us by “The Hawaiin Punch” Brian Viloria after he beats the Mexican champion Julio Cesar “Pingo” Miranda.

It was a twelve rounds test of bravery and strength between the two warriors of different culture- Viloria from the Philippines and Miranda from Mexico were both determined to bring home the crown. It was a non-stop action full of thrill and excitement.

This is one of the biggest event of the year was held in Blaisdell Center, Honolulu, Hawaii. A unanimous was given decision over Julio Cesar “Pingo” Miranda in favor of Brian Viloria on Sunday, Manila time. Viloria already stunned the Mexican boxer and dropped him as early as in first round. With a perfect right followed by a cracking left hook, Viloria was able to dominate the round. Miranda then, tries to continue the fight but still don’t match with the champion’s speed.

In the fight telecast done by ABC 5, all the three judges’ score was in favor of Viloria. Viloria grew up in Waipahu but his parents were from Ilocos Sur. He represented the US in the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Now, this a new beginning for the young man’s ultimate journey toward stardom. This fight was his third time of winning the world title.

As for Miranda, it was his fourth title defense but unfortunately lose it to the Filipino Champ. Even though the Mexican boxer was dropped during the first round he still tries to distract Viloria’s attention and bullies him. But his tactics was no good to Viloria because the guy was willing to listen to his corner-man Ruben Gomez when he needed to.

Viloria told the Daily Inquirer in an immediate interview right after the fight that his speed and better foot movement and body shots which took a lot of Miranda. He further said that the Mexican boxer look so frustrated and tired towards the end.

The fight between Viloria and Miranda really give the people the fight they wanted to see.
