Filipina singer Zsa Zsa Padilla deserves a big celebration as the court finally granted her petition for annulment of marriage against Dr Modesto Tatlonghari, her estranged spouse. Her patience was tested for ten long years. Hence, her long-awaited wedding with her beloved Dolphy is possible anytime.

Few hours after getting the good news on Thursday, Zsa Zsa proudly says that she is “free again”. One can truly describe that the singer seemingly went through the eye of a needle before the court eventually approved her request.

The thankful Zsa Zsa shared that she still couldn’t believe that she was actually holding the copy of the Decree for Nullity saying that she kept on looking at it that moment.

Karylle, who is both a singer and actress, is the daughter of Zsa Zsa Padilla from the unsuccessful marriage with her dentist husband. Karylle requested her mother to let her finish her tertiary education before Zsa Zsa filed her petition for annulment in 2001.

In August 1980, Padilla and Tatlonghari went for a civil marriage while their church marriage also happened on the same year in September. That time, Zsa Zsa was only 16 while Modesto was 35 years old. A news site said that they had eloped. Her decision was said to be crucial during those times since it was against the will of her parents.

Carlos Padilla Jr. is a retired actor known to be the father of Zsa Zsa. He was internationally recognized when he served as a referee during the Ali-Fraser Thrilla held in the country’s capital way back 1975.

In 1987 Zsa Zsa and Modesto decided to separate. That time, Zsa Zsa was already in the entertainment industry and she was 22 years old. It was in 1989 that Zsa Zsa and Dolphy fell in love with each other. Since then, both had been living together up to the present.

Their plan to get married was delayed due to the pending the annulment of Zsa Zsa and Modesto. It was reported that the said civil marriage annulment request had been delayed because of some technicality.

With Dolphy’s approval, the singer called Modesto right after she received the copy of the Decree for Nullity. When the singer was asked about her interrupted wedding plan, Zsa Zsa could only say that they had “no plans yet”. After all, she had only received the court’s decision three days ago.

As of this moment, Zsa Zsa is thankful for the good news as she happily says that she is free once again.
