Novak Djokovic, was considered as one of the emerging tennis player today. The Serbian was a threat to the domination of Spanish Rafael Nadal and American Roger Federer. Rafael Nadal had admitted earlier that Djokovic was the favourite to win this year’s Roland Garros.

Victory posted by Novak Djokovic against former world number 1 Roger Federer had further gave the confidence to the current #2 world ranked Djokovic to showcase his talents in the world of Tennis. For the past few years major tennis events where fought between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal and with the entry of Djokovic it will add more diversity to the game.

Rafael Nadal have been previously beaten by Novak Djokovic but Federer still believed that Nadal could avenged his lost against the Serbian. The Spanish world # 1 has lost his last four matches against the Serb. All losses came from Masters Series finals in Indian Wells, Miami  and more recently on the claycourts of Madrid and Rome.

In an interview regarding a possible match up with Djokovic, Nadal was quoted as saying  “I think he is the great favourite. He hasn’t lost a match since the start of the year and he’s playing in an incredible way,” he furher adds that “I do not fear Djokovic but you have to applaud his success since the beginning of the year. This will be very difficult to repeat. I admire what he has done.” Nadal said.

Novak Djokovic popularity had been shadowed previously by Nadal and Federer, two of the world’s most famous tennis player. Some analyst says that he will continue to stall at number 3 until he retire but he had proven himself that he is not destined for the number 3 spot but he could moved closer to his goal at the top of the mens tennis circle.

Djokovic had a tremendous 2011 showing, he was undefeated for 37 matches and if he reaches the French Open Finals he will be the next player in 7 years to attain the number one ranking excluding Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.

A trip to the final would gave Djokovic significant’s ATP tour record, breaking John McEnroe’s 1984 mark of 42. A win would mean he would tie with Guillermo Vilas for most consecutive victories at the Open era at 46.

Novak Djokovic started his career in ATP Tour in 2004. His name moved on to top 100 and youngest player to attained such rankings in the year 2005. In 2006 he was the youngest at top 20 and in 2007, he was the youngest tennis player to ranked at top 10. Djokovic was born in Belgrade, Serbia, in 1987.
