John Walker the founder and former member of Walker Brothers died at the aged of 67 due to liver cancer

John Walker, the former member and founder of the famous group The Walker Brothers who were famous in the 1960’s died at the aged of 67.

In the statement given by his spokeswoman, Walker died in his home in Los Angeles last Saturday after his six months battle with liver cancer.

The band started in the year 1964 when three unrelated musician in United States, Scott Engel, john Maus and Gary Leeds adopted the name walker Brothers.

Some of their unforgettable songs that became a hit in 60’s are Make It easy On Yourself and The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine(Any More).

The fame of the group lasted until 1970’s. They even became more famous when they travelled to the UK to do some shows and continued to make hits and commercial success in Music Industry.

The official website of John Walker released the sad news and it said with “Deepest Sadness” that I had to report that John Walker p(–foul word(s) removed–)ed away in his LA home on 7 May 2011.

It is also quoted in the site that John Walker was a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, friend, and artist.

One of his former band members, Gary Walker pay tribute to John by posting a statement in his site expressing his deepest sadness and it quote “very sad day for John’s family, myself and all of our many fans”.

Gary acknowledged the contribution of John being the founder member of the group and once the lead singer of the band in the early days. He also praise john for being a fantastic guitarist in which he said most people did not realize.

He also added that John was a comp(–foul word(s) removed–)ionate song writer and gentlemen with lots of style.

Gary said that the three of them had the most incredible adventure together and they even did not realize that they were already part of pop history in the making during their times.

He said that john’s music will continue to live on in the hearts of many people and so as john.
