Heavy Storms struck Southern China killing 18 and 150 were injured

Southern China specifically Guangdong province was hit by violent thunderstorms that resulted to death of at least 18 people leaving more than 150 injured reports said on Monday.

Guangdong’s capital, Guangzhou, was struck by strong gale-force winds, heavy rains along with hailstones causing vast destruction of its surrounding areas. Guangzhou’s nearby cities such as Foshan, Dongguan, and Zhaoqing were also among the areas which have been heavily damaged.

According to authorities, it could have been the falling objects or collapsing walls became the reason why several people had died.

There had been 380 people that were left homeless as they were subjected to forced evacuation.

Meanwhile, around 1,000 hectares of planted crops were ruined. Buildings and farmlands were also damaged due to the heavy storm. China had lost millions of dollars due to the said extreme weather disturbance.

More than 3,200 victims suffered from the said heavy storm which took destruction of at least 45 houses according to reports of the spokesman of the Guangzhou province.

The disaster emergency response was launched by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Civil Affairs in order to (–foul word(s) removed–)ist rescuers since death toll from the said incident is expected to increase.

The Chinese local government started a relief mission to be able to give (–foul word(s) removed–)istance to the victims. Injured individuals presently undergo medical treatment in the hospitals.

The province of Guangdong is known to be the China’s manufacturing heartland where thousands of factories that manufacture various goods are to be found.
