After the devastating Earthquake that strike Japan last Friday, officials is worrying that death toll in the country might exceed to 10,000 in just one state alone. Government is now using their resources and exerting more effort to rescue some possible survivors buried under the collapsed buildings and establishment. They are also giving a rushed aid to those people who were affected by supplying them with water, food, electricity and telephone services.

Prime Minister Naoto Kan said that this disaster has been the most severe crisis they have experienced since the last 65 years during the World War II.

Government’s action to double the number of soldiers deployed to help the 100,000 estimated people affected seems to be insufficient, due to more damage being discovered. Two nuclear plants in Fukushima in Japan were severely damaged by the tsunami; at least one of them is already starting to meltdown, raising fears of radiation leak.

The destructive force of tsunami has swept away the entire village of Japan’s pacific coastline, living hundreds of people homeless.

As of now estimated death has already reached to 10,000 according to police spokesperson Go Sugawara.

Miyage, a state in Japan with 2.3 million populations is one of the three major places who suffered the hardest hit by the Earthquake. 379 people have been confirmed dead in Miyage.

With the least hope to see more survivors, 60 years old man has been rescued by the military helicopter after he was spotted floating off the coast of Fukushima on the roof of his house after carried away by the tsunami. The man seems to be in good condition.

The 8.9 magnitude earthquake calculated by the US Geological Survey has been change by the Japanese officials raising it to 9.0 last Sunday. This has been the strongest earthquake ever recorded in Japan with more than 150 powerful after aftershocks.
