About 29,711 news nurses have p(–foul word(s) removed–)ed the Nurse Licensure Examination which was held last December 2010 that was given in the cities of Manila, Cagayan de Oro, Baguio, Dagupan, Butuan, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Lucena, Pagadian, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga as announced by Professional Regulation Commission.

There were 84,287 examinees who took the exam and only 35.25% have p(–foul word(s) removed–)ed it. Weanne Myrrh Razon Estrada, a graduate of Adventist University of the Philippines is the top examinee with a total average score of 88.4% among others.

The result was a little lower comparing to July 2010 examinee with a total of 94,462 examinee and about 37,527 board p(–foul word(s) removed–)er.

The Philippine Nurses (–foul word(s) removed–)ociation of United Kingdom and Ireland (PNA-UK) is taking step to safeguard the new board p(–foul word(s) removed–)er to be cautious on the job offers. The (–foul word(s) removed–)ociation said that they are concerned on the improper recruitment procedures that will cost thousands of pesos and ended up nothing.

On the other hand, the Government starts recruiting around 10,000 nurses in coordination with the Department of Health (DOH) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) as per headed by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

The new recruit will be deployed nationwide and will receive a monthly allowance of P8,000.00 aside from their monthly salary.

Most of the Filipino nurses are now working abroad because of the big salary that is offered compare locally. But the topnotcher, Weanne Myrrh Razon Estrada, said that she is staying in the Philippines for good. She said that “I owe it to my country” .
